The Oberwinterthur district
Oberwinterthur was incorporated in 1922; the Roman settlement of Vitudurum lay here, and from 1911 Sulzer built large industrial plants here (HLS). Around Grüze and Hegi stations, Neuhegi is being developed – planned for 10,000 jobs and 4,000 residents, with the Eulachpark at its centre (SRF).
Neuhegi has many new residential buildings. How close the van can get to the entrance and whether there is a goods lift, we check during the survey. Retirement flats are in the Giesserei (151) and the Domum in Hegi (50) (housing monitoring): Moving for seniors.
Residents in 2022 in selected neighbourhoods: Hegi 3,562, Grüze 3,543, Hegmatten 2,389 (Quartierspiegel).
