Everyone should be able to use our website – including people who have low vision or are blind, who do not use a mouse or who find small text hard to read. This page explains which aids are available, what we have tested and where limits remain.
Aids on every page
- Display settings (at the top of every page): three text sizes and high contrast. Your choice is saved on your device.
- Read page aloud (also under “Display settings”): your browser reads the page content aloud and highlights the current paragraph. You can pause and stop. In forms, labels, selected options and error messages are announced – what you type is not read aloud.
- Keyboard: every function can be reached without a mouse. The first Tab stop, “Skip to content”, takes you straight to the text, and the focus is always visible.
- Screen readers: headings are in order, images have descriptions and form fields are labelled. Error messages and the number of place suggestions are announced.
- Zoom: pages can be enlarged up to 400% without sideways scrolling. Wide tables scroll within themselves and can be operated with the keyboard.
Enquiries without a form
You do not have to fill in a form. Call us on 071 554 62 62, or send a WhatsApp message – a voice message is fine – to 078 345 57 57. We take your details over the phone and, if you wish, talk you through the quote.
What we have tested
We follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA. On 5 October 2026 we tested 23 page types in desktop and mobile view with the testing tool axe-core, checked keyboard operation and fixed the issues found.
Automated tests find only some of the barriers. A test with people who use a screen reader every day is still to come. We therefore do not claim that the website fully meets every requirement.
Known limitations
- The Google reviews are displayed by an external service. We have no influence on how accessible it is.
- Linked documents from authorities, such as PDF information sheets, are not ours and are not always accessible.
- “Read page aloud” uses your browser’s voices. If no voice is available in the language of the page, the output may sound unusual; in browsers without speech output the button does not appear.
