Lausanne sits on steep slopes above Lake Geneva. The height differences between Ouchy and the upper town affect carrying routes and vehicle choice.
Moving in Lausanne: good to know
Lausanne climbs steeply from the lakeshore at Ouchy; several hundred metres of altitude separate its districts, linked by the m2 metro. Gradients and narrow streets determine carrying routes and the choice of vehicle.
